A fearless buffalo survived an epic four-hour-long attack by six lions by dragging them into the middle of a lake and impaling one on its horns.
Robin van Stenis and his wife Nicole were visiting Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana, when two lions chased prey past their vehicle and into the path of four more predators waiting by some water.
Dramatic footage shows the big cats leap on to their prey’s back while the buffalo heroically dragged them into the lake step by agonising step.
